Orthodontics for Children and Adults

The recommended age for a child to be seen by an orthodontist is seven. However, age is not a big factor since growth and stage of development should be given more consideration. Accordingly, the sooner parents can bring their kids to dental clinics, the better. Mostly, children does not need to start braces until all of their permanent teeth have come in, usually between ages of 11 and 13 years old. Should your kid need to undergo treatment at a young age, a lot of orthodontic appliances are available in the market today. Choose what you think is most effective and convenient for your child. This is of course, with the aid of a dentist’s advice to ensure success of dental treatment.

Orthodontics for adults on the other hand, may take longer to see its effects. Unlike children who can take the advantage of growth more easily, adult bones may not be in a state of flux, taking longer to move the teeth. But the result would still be the same, provided the treatment is appropriate and proper care is maintained. Even though some adults feel a little outdated for orthodontics, it is never too late to start now. Everybody whether old or young can have perfect teeth, of course.
